behind the scenes

Behind the scenes on the shoot when I was styling for ecommerce Noordinarysuit shot at the lemonade factory in London.

A few days ago I styled the new collection for Noordinarysuit, and this time I snapped some behind the scenes photos. Here I am going through the looks (and trying on the blazer from the new collection that is PERFECT) and organizing them according to the different backdrops the photographer is gonna use.

Le mood board. Like this, we know what kind of poses, feel and style in general the photographer Paddy wants.

The setup. We shoot in probably the most beautiful studio in London; The Lemonade Factory. It has a lot of space, newly renovated with natural light shining through, what else can you ask for?

The makeup artist table. So many products I didn't even know existed. I'm not a big makeup girl so for me this is a non-explored universe I have no clue about. I did manage to get some insider tip about how to create that dewy eyeshadow look, the answer is pawpaw balm, a simple product you can get HERE.

And more clothes, this time on the "done-shooting-rail", getting there. Yay.

I will let you know as soon as the work from the shoot it out and share it here on the blog. Let me know if you like post like this and want to follow me more in my day to day life!

Floaty silky caftan dresses and leather sandals

Smilla silk caftan from Acne Studios and leather sandals from H&M for a casual chic city summer look

London is hot right now, very warm and sweaty that is. Due to the fact that it is a massive city and that there is no sea breeze what so ever here, the city warms up like a sauna. If you want to stay kind of fresh and last the day, it's impossible to wear trousers and closed shoes. This is what I wore the other day, my asymmetric silk dress paired with my leather slides (Very important to not wear any kind of synthetic material for the body to be able to breathe properly through the shoes and clothes. FYI. ). Over and out.

The story about the golden shoes and why everybody should own a pair

goldshoes-(1-of-1)-4

There is an old Swedish song from the eighties where the Swedish band Herreys are singing about golden shoes, ask any Swede, we are all familiar with that song. To sum it up the song kind of goes like this: Diggiloo Diggiley everybody's looking at me when I am walking in my golden shoes, I'm always flying in my golden shoes, I wish everybody had a pair of golden shoes" and so on and so on. Basically, the whole song is about how wonderful you can feel in golden shoes. I didn't get it thirty years ago, but I get it now since I got myself a pair. Everybody need a pair of golden shoes!!! What an eye catcher and what a statement shoe, I don't think ever I received so many compliments for a shoe.

As you can see on the picture above, with those kinds of shoes you can go really simple in the rest of the outfit, here worn with ripped vintage Levis 501 jeans. You are after all wearing gold and you don't want to overdo it.

Ganni forever/ fever and my thoughts on Scandinvian Fashion

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Sometimes I almost feel slightly embarrassed when someone asks me about my favorite brands, only due to the fact that most of them are Scandinavian. Since I am Scandinavian I sometimes ask myself " am I not broadening my horizon enough?" But trust me in a city like London you get exposed to a lot of different styles so that really can't be the case. I see other brands and designer and as much as I can appreciate them, it's not what I choose to put in my basket. Ok maybe I'm exaggeration a little bit, my closet doesn't only contain Scandinavian brand but you get the point, I love Scandinavian fashion so shoot me now? Now that I got that off my chest, le'ts talk about the look above.

Danish brand Ganni is one of my favorite brands, so playful and colorful but yet som minimalistic and chic. In this photo, I'm doing a full Ganni look. Perfect to pair with a pair of sneakers for an even more casual touch.

Head of Styling for No Ordinary Suit – Interview

nosintervju2

Photo taken in No Ordinary Suit's office in Shoreditch

It is finally time to announce my exciting new role as Head of Styling and Content for No Ordinary Suit. Yay, I'm SUPER excited. No Ordinary Suit (Or NOS to simplify the writing) is an online retailer based in the UK who stock Scandinavian brands, brands that I have known and loved for years but that have for some reason never hit the UK market. Until now that is!

NOS was founded 2016 by Helena Balls, Brittish citizen but born and raised in Sweden just like me. Last year I freelanced and styled a shoot for her website and here I am now, working side by side with this lovely power women!

The idea and vision about NOS is to bring UK some quirky business and office wear (And everyday wear as well of course), and I'm sorry if I step on someones toe but we Scandi do that the best, the simple classic pieces with and extra touch and edge.

I will still be staying with my dear Acne Studios it's just now a matter of balancing the two. I can do it.

Find out more about my new role and other fashion related stuff in the interview on HERE !!!

Miss matching – My best styling tip

hoodie

If there is one favorite thing I like to do when it comes to styling I would say it's "miss-matching", I love when things clash so much that they make sense together. Let me explain it further, in this photo I found my boyfriends hoodie from work ( To my defense he was out of town) so naturally, I decided to style them with these strass earrings to balance the casualness out. Makes sense no?

How shiny does my lips look by the way? In love with the lip balm from Elizabeth Arden, so classic.

How to style 1 denim into 4 looks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vGMkJY4I4s&feature=youtu.be

Here you go my third v-log is up! This time slightly different than the previous ones since it's more focused on styling. As much as I love to do new purchases I still think that a basic wardrobe can get you very far in terms of style. A pair of shoes, for example, can totally change a look from casual to chic, from low-key to statement and so on. This is kind of what I wanted to show in this video, I used one pair of levis 501 to get four different looks;  Night-out-look, Casual-look, Office-look and last but not least A-day-in-the-city-look.

Let me know what you think about videos like this!
