Moving and new shopping rules

Wearing Vans, denim from Mango and top from And Other Stories in the middle of the moving chaos.

Moving house is both exciting and exhausting (the answer is coffee).  Even if I don't consider myself a hoarder I still need to be a person who lives with less. So my rule to myself now is before buying anything asking myself the very simple question: Will you love it in 6 months time? Now I already am a person who invests in quality and classic pieces and I really do think an extra time before purchasing. But every now and then I slip too and I end up buying a trend piece that I wear once or twice.

It really is a bit like therapy sorting out your stuff and it makes you think about consumption, so in the end, I guess its a good thing!

I have said it before but I will mention it again, Next has become one of my favorite high street brands lately. Not only is the price point super good but they have some really cool stuff there that keep good quality. When I got asked to put together a complete look from Next, the choice wasn't hard.

I have this thing for tracker pants lately, or for sportswear in general, I should say. So as you can see I ended up with navy track pants and a cricket knit, styled with kitten heels for a dressed up look. And yes I obsessed with leopard print as well. I love the fact that it all goes together with the colors in this look, the white colors from the both bottom and top and the brown stripe from the knit to the brown in the shoes. I am in love with this look!

It’s all about the contrasts

contrastsI always loved dressing in contrast to balance up a look. If I wear a romantic skirt I would pair it with a masculine top, or a boot anything really just to not look to much of something.

Yesterday I wore this very ballerina shaped skirt (check out another outfit with the skirt HERE) and styled it with a oversized sweatshirt (tucked-in in the front), just to even things out. We all know to much of something is never good!

sunday funday

casual

When your line of work requires you to always be dressed up (which I Iove don't get me wrong) it is quite nice to on a Sunday dress down. So last Sunday that is  exactly what I did, no heels to spice up the outfit, no makeup to hide behind, just back to basic. What a relief sometimes! This is how I looked for a dinner out followed by the pub with some friends.

vintage and burgundy

burgundy2burgundy1burgundy7burgundy6

Burgundy is really a key color this season and lucky for me since I love it. You can match it with almost every color and if you are wearing a lot of black (as me) you should really invest in a burgundy piece as it just give you this extra color in your outfit that goes very well with black.

Enough about that, and lets  move on to my new shoes, finally I feel tall (talller) and plus they are super comfy for being high heels. I am really  happy about them, one can never have to many  black boots if you ask me!

cecilie copenhagen and leather

stree2stree1stree3stree4stree7street5

First of all lets talk about my new top from the danish brand Cecilie copenhagen, We recently got in this brand at work and I grabbed one for my self directly. I have known about this brand for a while and I love the way the play with an old pattern and create modern pieces. Very creative! I choosed the classic black and white, but they have styles with other colors. Check out their collection HERE. This look also happens to carry three of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe, my canada scarf, my pistol boots and my beloved handbag I got on my 30:th birthday.

Other than that London is really cold so I kind of took a risk wearing the leatherjacket, cant wait for the coat season to be over for real. Come on London bring us some spring!

prima ballerina

ballerinaSometimes I happend to think about a piece or a model in either clothes, bags or  shoes that I would like to own, and in that same moment I also sometimes say to my self out load -But wait don't I already have that? This is exactly what happend this other day when I thought to myself that I wanted a pair of leather ballerinas.

Now you might think, that I have a really huge closet in order to not know what's in it, but this is not the case. Since moving in between apartments while living three years in Paris and finally doing a major move here to London, bringing everything by myself on eurostar (never doing that again) resulted i a few "selling of stuff at flee markets". So to make a long story short, I don't always know  if 1. I sold it 2. Threw it away or 3. Left it somewhre in an appartment in Paris. Luckily I relised after going throw all my shoes that I keept this beauties! ballerinablwh

The best thing about them is that  they are foldable so you can easyly  bring them in your handbag and put them on when your heels start hurting too much.

Sundays are truly my favorite day of the week, the preasure is off and thats probably why they end up beeing just prefect. A few Sundays ago I went to Columbia street flower market here in London on a mission to find a plant called Monstera Deliciosa. I have been wanting this plant for so long, so you can imagne the joy when you find it for only 8 pound!

My absolute favorite piece in the wardrobe right now is this chunky knit from Acne Studios, it is perfect. I love that the sleevs are really really long and that it has this kind of round shape in the back, perfection!

And yeah can we talk about the pink doors? How cute?
